So conclusively: Just slapping a tune on a 316d won't cut it. Yes you might be able to achieve 180hp with a tune, but it will be a lot of stress on the parts involved and might not last as long. Edit: the 318d shares a lot more parts with the 316d. So I would just avoid the trouble and go with a 320d.
