If you have readen books, the game plot is MUCH more deeper. Ive just played Witcher 2 after first book and it was good rpg in witcher's world. After 6 books I'm Witcher fanboy. Set on a fictional, medieval -inspired landmass known as the Continent, The Witcher explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia , Yennefer of Vengerberg and Princess They are not that good IMO. I suspect the people who do like the books are simply witcher superfans or something, or read them when they were very young. They are indeed a lot of fun, but I find they are not written very well and contain a surprising number of drawn out, unnecessary segments for such short books. The Witcher season 2 is now streaming on Netflix, and there are quite a few fans of the show that have already finished the season or are pretty close to completion. For those who have finished

The main series consists of seven books and has been completed for two decades now. About a decade after he wrapped it all up, Sapkowski wrote one more book that takes place in the verse, but it's an independent prequel that takes place before the main seven.
